Allagash and Established Maine Breweries
Allagash Brewing, one of New England’s most respected craft breweries, participates in fall seasonal programming from its Portland facility. While Allagash’s primary focus is Belgian-style ales rather than German lagers, its fall events and the quality of the brewery experience make them worth checking. Other established Maine breweries — Bissell Brothers, Foundation, Rising Tide — schedule fall events that align with the Oktoberfest season even when the focus isn’t strictly German-style beer.
Beyond Portland
Outside Portland, Lewiston-Auburn, Bangor, and the midcoast areas see smaller brewery and bar events in the fall. These are generally low-key local affairs rather than destination events. If you’re already in Maine for the foliage season — which overlaps almost perfectly with Oktoberfest timing — it’s worth checking local listings wherever you are.
